MT ALICE PROJECT
The Mt Alice project is a greenfield uranium exploration target in northern South Australia. It comprises one 100%-owned granted exploration licence (EL4632) with an area of 811km2. Application to renew the tenement was submitted to PIRSA in November 2011.
The project is located approximately 50km north-west of Oodnadatta, situated between the Oodnadatta track and the Alberga River. The primary target is roll front uranium mineralisation in shallow sand units, however potential also exists for calcrete hosted deposits along the southern bank of the Alberga River. The project area has been the subject of little previous exploration activity, but open file data shows a large radiometric anomaly across the centre of the tenement. A geochemical program carried out by Raisama has identified numerous low order uranium anomalies in surface samples which will be used in drill targeting. A successful heritage clearance survey was completed in 2011.
